'Hangout Records' was born from a vision of redefining the recording experience for independent artists in Los Angeles.

In 2021, Aaron Concepcion (SABI.sensei) was an aspiring engineer enrolled at Cypress College. While pursuing his formal education in audio engineering, Aaron was already working with local artists, producing and engineering in the many small studios throughout Los Angeles. The experience was immensely frustrating as numerous studios revealed themselves to be poorly constructed, equipped with subpar or cheaply maintained gear, and offered terrible customer service.

This led Aaron to take a leap of faith and renovate his living room into a fully fledged recording studio. Still just a student at the time, Aaron leveraged his newly acquired knowledge of acoustics and obtained funding through maxing out 10 separate credit cards in order to bring his vision to life.

Aaron enlisted the help of close friends and the studio was built in just over a month of intense renovations. While the workdays were long and tedious, the process always felt more like a hangout than anything else. This spirit is what embodies Hangout Records: we lead with passion and strive for excellence, but in the end good music is something to hangout over.

Some people get together and play poker. Others crack open a beer and watch the game. We do music. Whether you need to track some vocals, mix your next project, or just need to create it's definitely a great reason to hangout and make some memories through music.
